Summer squash is ready, baby green beans are forming, beets are getting to size, the swiss chard is tasty, some tomatoes beginning to blush...
A joke from the older children, "Why did the tomato blush? Because it saw the salad dressing." Cute, I thought.
Currently, we are fighting harlequin bugs, which really like our broccoli plants. Today, alone, a few hundred were picked off and drowned in soapy water. We may save it yet, thanks to the wonderful help of Travis and Patrick (some young men that have helped us for 4 or 5 years now)!
We look forward to opening, beginning the harvest and seeing the many familiar and new faces of our customers this season!
