The beans are beautiful and tasty. I had to cook up a pot immediately after they were cleaned and Farmer Dean trucked them from the bean cleaner back to the farm.
What does "New Crop" mean, you may ask. That means the current year harvest of beans or any other crop. As you can see in photos below they are a beautiful creamy color speckled with brown. Coloring is one of the ways you can tell a new bean from and older one. The flavor and cooking time will be very different. As the beans age, they darken and the creamy color will turn a dark pink. Most of the beans in grocery stores that have that darker coloring may be more than 5 years old. If you have never tried "New Crop" beans, try some today!
