Farmer Dean says the Schwebach Farm Market will be open this coming week Tues - Fri from 10 to 3. After that we will be on call for any remaining produce we have left. Hope to see you soon!
The Schwebach Farm Market will be closing after hours tomorrow, Sunday, October 19th. We are open today, Saturday, October 18th, from 10 to 6. As you can see we still have a nice selection of produce: Schwebach Farm 2014 Pintos (10lb. & 1 lb.), Ness Farm 2014 Pintos (25 lb.), Patchwork Farms 2014 Pintos (50 lb.), carrots, green tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, pie pumpkins, winter squash, sweet onions, Yukon Gold and Colorado Rose red potatoes. Come on by this weekend and stock up for those chilly winter days!
I say this every year, 'How quickly the harvest/farming season goes by..."
Today was the last day of the Sweet Corn harvest. We are grateful to have been able to harvest this long, since we had a late start back in August.
We have completed the Pinto and Bolita harvest. Beans are still available in our Farm Market. The 25 lb. Pintos have sold, but we still have 10 lb. Pintos and New Crop Pintos in 25 lb. bags from Ness Farms in Estancia, NM. Bolitas are still available in all sizes.
What else is in the Farm Market, you may ask... We are still harvesting potatoes, dry onions and winter squash. Carrots, beets, broccoli, cabbage, green beans and other produce listed at the Schwebach Farm Market page.
Our potatoes and onions store quite well in a dark, cool location. And winter squash was designed to last through the long winter months before refrigeration and grocery stores. In a cool, dry location much of the winter squash/pie pumpkins will store for 3 to 6 months.
So, please come see us as we anticipate the Farm Market being open through October 19th. After that we will be available "on call" for any remaining produce available.
Just what are we still doing here at the farm? We are shredding sweet corn, running the disc through the fields, planting winter cover crops, baling alfalfa, clearing out our hoop house, harvesting winter squash and preparing the drip system for our first frost. And, we will have popcorn and non-gmo food grain corn to harvest next month.
Enjoy some fall photos as we wind down our harvest season!
The final harvest of Pinto and Bolitas Beans are now available. They are selling quickly, so if you would like some, please come in soon!
